Anycubic Kobra S1 – Storage Base with Dual Drawers & Filament Waste Collection System

A practical, custom-designed storage base specifically developed for the Anycubic Kobra S1. It makes better use of the space underneath the printer while providing convenient storage for tools, accessories and PEI build plates.

The design combines a functional printer base with two independent storage drawers and an integrated filament waste collection system. It helps keep your workspace clean, organized and ready for your next 3D printing project.

1. Left Drawer – Filament Waste Collector (Poop Collector)

A dedicated drawer designed to collect filament waste automatically ejected by the printer during printing.

• Integrated rear waste collection channel.
• Directs filament waste from the back of the printer into the left drawer.
• Easy access for emptying and cleaning.
• Keeps filament waste off your desk and away from your workspace.

The rear channel is designed to guide the waste directly into the collection drawer.

2. Right Drawer – Tools & Accessories Storage

A spacious drawer designed to store everyday 3D printing tools and accessories.

Perfect for storing:

• Printer maintenance tools.
• Pliers, cutters and scrapers.
• Nozzles and small spare parts.
• Cleaning accessories.
• Additional printer equipment.
• Custom 3D-printed organizers and dividers.

The interior can be further customized with your own storage inserts and organizers.

3. Hidden Storage for 5 PEI Build Plates

An additional storage compartment located underneath the base, designed to hold up to 5 PEI build plates.

• Storage capacity: up to 5 PEI plates.
• Plates remain hidden underneath the base.
• Convenient storage without taking up additional desk space.
• Easy access to spare build surfaces.

🛠️ Design & Development

The entire project was designed from scratch using FreeCAD.

This is an original custom design developed with a focus on functionality, practical storage and efficient use of the space underneath the Anycubic Kobra S1.

All components were designed to work together as one integrated storage solution for everyday 3D printing.

⚠️ Important – Tolerances & Assembly

Please keep in mind that every 3D printer may have slightly different calibration settings, dimensional accuracy and extrusion characteristics. Different filament brands and materials can also affect the final dimensions of printed parts.

For this reason, the actual clearances and fit between components may vary depending on your printer and filament.

• Clearance too tight: If parts fit too tightly or assembly becomes difficult, some minor adjustment may be necessary. This can include carefully removing excess material from contact surfaces or adjusting the dimensions in your slicer.
• Clearance too loose: If the connection is too loose, a suitable adhesive for plastics can be used to achieve a secure and durable fit.

Recommendation: Always check the fit of all components before final assembly. Identical print settings do not necessarily guarantee identical fitting results on different printers.
