Bilateral Hip Replacement - Educational Anatomy Model

This is a 3D-printable representation of a human pelvis featuring bilateral hip prosthetics.

Important Note on Accuracy

⚠️ Disclaimer: This model was not derived from a CT scan (DICOM). It is a custom-modeled artistic representation. While it provides a clear visual of how a total hip arthroplasty (THA) is structured within the pelvis, it is not intended for medical diagnostic or surgical planning purposes.

Why download this model?

Despite not being a 1:1 medical scan, this model is an excellent educational tool. It clearly illustrates:

  • The placement of the femoral stems within the femur.
  • How the ball joints interact with the acetabular cups.
  • The general structure of the human pelvis in relation to orthopedic implants.

It’s perfect for students, teachers, or as a visual aid for patients to understand the basics of hip replacement surgery.

  • Clear Visualization: Distinguishes between the bone structure and the mechanical implants.
  • Great for Multi-Color: If you have an AMS, you can easily print the bones in "Bone White" and the implants in "Silver" or "Steel" for a striking look.

Recommended Print Settings

  • Supports: Required (Tree/Organic supports recommended for the pelvic arches).
  • Layer Height: 0.16mm - 0.20mm.
  • Wall Loops: 3 for better structural strength.
  • Material: PLA (Matte White for bones looks great).
