Description

Turn your Google Pixel 7 (or comparably sized phone) into a cyberdeck/pocket terminal/palmtop using a USD $6 keyboard from AliExpress

Pixel 4a/Small Phone version: https://www.makeronline.com/en/model/Cyberdeck%20Keyboard%20Case%20for%20Pixel%204a%20Phones%20%26%20more/158704.html

THIS MODEL DOES NOT CONTAIN THE PHONE CASE, ONLY THE KEYBOARD HOLDER, HINGES, AND PINS

It is designed to work out of the box with the rigid variant of this case: https://www.printables.com/model/300937-google-pixel-7-case/files

BOM:

Assembly:

  1. (Optional, lets you skip steps #3 and #4) Remix this model to combine the hinges with your phone case of choice.
  2. Print this model in PLA or PETG.
  3. Print a phone case with a compatible filament (if you did not combine the models in step 1)
  4. Use a soldering iron/heat (recommended) or CA glue (not recommended) to join the phone case to the hinges. I've found using a bit of extra filament and a soldering iron to "weld" the sides together works great.
  5. If your printer is well calibrated, you should be able to snap the keyboard directly in. You may need to bend the case a bit to secure the keyboard under the side tabs.
  6. Pair the keyboard to your phone with Bluetooth.

Recommended Software:

To charge the keyboard, pop it back out and charge with USB-C.

I'd love to hear if you remix this to work with different phone models!
