Description

Gizlock’s Hypertech Buckler

I just love mixing different things together! This time I tried to push little bit more… and learn new things in the process.

World of Warcraft themed stuff – DONE

World of Warcraft themed weapons and shields for Dummy 13? – DONE

World of Warcraft themed weapon or shield for Dummy 13 with moving parts – DONE

World of Warcraft themed weapon or shield for Dummy 13 with moving parts as a kit card? – Let’s try it! :)

Some goblin/gnomish engineering item was an obvious choice. Decided to go with some classic shield from Maraudon instance. Nice, large gear rotates around the round central part. Piece of cake. Hmm, but there is a screw in the center that rotates too. And in the opposite direction! OK, I guess it’s time to learn something about gears in Fusion ;)

Wasn’t that bad as I thought. Clearances are still fine at that size. Made some World of Warcraft themed fidget spinner in the process. I hope Tinkerer Gizlock will be proud of my work! ;)

How to print this model.

Standard 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. Both multi color and single color are fine. Two options to choose from. Kit card is my favourite but if you don’t want to mess around with the frame and with cutting parts from it I also left the option to print separate parts only. When you decide to go with kit card, clean the frame parts thoroughly, especially from the gears.

How to build this model.

Cut the parts from the kit card frame. Clean the remains around gears with sharp knife. Place the gears on the protruding pins and check if everything runs smoothly. If it’s not, check if printer not left any filament residue inside the holes. Add little bit of glue inside the holes in the top plate and then glue it on top of three pins. Do not glue gears! Be careful to not add too much glue. It may flow down the pins and glue your gears. After that put or glue the Dummy 13 hand grip at the back of the shield.

If you like the model and you want to give it thumbs up, please also consider downloading it. It cost you just one additional click and it’s very important to me. Also check my other models, maybe you will find something interesting :) Thank you!

World of Warcraft, Gizlock’s Hypertech Buckler, all trademarks belongs to Blizzard. I’m just a fan who recreated this models for 3D printing to share with others for free. No commercial use.

Happy printing! :)
