Ever find yourself needing more hanging space in the bathroom? This 3D printed hook is the perfect solution to make the most of your heated towel rail.
Its deep "V" design (or beak shape) allows you to easily hang thick fabrics, like heavy terry cloth bathrobes, without them slipping off. The hook features a snap-fit design that clips onto the horizontal tubes of the radiator, staying securely in place without the need for screws or adhesives.
It is a minimalist and functional addition that helps keep your bathroom tidy and your towels warm.
Key Features:
Snap-fit design: Installs and removes in seconds, no tools required.
Secure hold: The deep V-shape securely holds heavy towels and robes.
Space-saving: Utilizes the vertical space on the radiator that often goes unused.
⚠️ Note on sizing: This model is designed for towel rails with standard tube diameters 24mm. If your radiator has different tube dimensions, you may need to slightly scale the model in your slicer (e.g., +/- 5%).
🔧 Print Instructions (Slicer Settings):
To ensure a strong and durable hook, please follow these recommendations:
Recommended Material: Highly recommended PETG, ABS, or ASA.
Why? Radiators can reach temperatures exceeding 50-60°C (120-140°F). Standard PLA will likely soften and deform under the weight of a towel at these temperatures. Only use PLA if you are certain your radiator stays cool/lukewarm.
Orientation: CRITICAL. Print the part laying on its side (as shown in the photos). This ensures the layer lines run along the direction of stress, making the hook significantly stronger and preventing it from snapping under load.
Supports: No supports needed if printed on its side.
Infill: At least 25-30% (Gyroid or Cubic patterns are great).
Perimeters (Walls): Use 3 or 4 perimeters for maximum structural integrity.
Layer Height: 0.2mm works perfectly.
