Kid door safety lock

We have a three-year-old grandson and a swimming pool in our back yard, and we wanted to add a safety locking mechanism to keep him from opening the door to the backyard on his own. The door is a French door with a lever handle, and I didn't like the approaches I could find for lever handles, and the French door creates its own challenges. I created this simple pin-lock design to mount with a high-strength tape, like 3M or Gorilla permanent tape. It works very well, plus the design makes it simple to store the pins to the opposite side & out of the way when the door can remain unlocked. This is still FDM printed, and taped onto the door, so use at your discretion and make sure you are comfortable that it will be secure enough for your needs.
