Description

🧬 Maciste – Nexogum #3 (Series 1)

Welcome back to the Nexogum project! This is the 3rd figure in my personal line of collectible figures inspired by the iconic 80s Exogini (M.U.S.C.L.E.) toys, which I wanted to reimagine with a modern, bio-mechanical twist.

Following Vite (#1) and Medusa (#2), I'm proud to present the muscle of the team: Maciste, the indomitable power-house warrior of the squad. My goal was to create a truly massive figure, with overwhelming and futuristic physical power that also evokes nostalgia for the classic toy lines.

For this third character, the process was the same: I used AI to generate the initial concept design and then manually sculpted and refined the mesh. The goal was to remove overly delicate or complex details that might fail or fuse with supports. We focused on clean, massive, and high-impact volumes that really show off the power of this biomechanical warrior.

🛡️ RECONSTRUCTION COMPLETE: OPTIMIZED FOR DETAIL

As a bio-mechanical reconstruction, Maciste is designed to capture incredible detail through modern 3D printing. While my physical model was tested in dark, detailed resin to give it a bronze finish, the file is versatile and ready for your preferred material choice:

  • Resin (Photopolymer): Recommended for achieving the maximum level of sharp, sculpted detail and achieving a heavy, textured look like a miniature art piece.
  • PLA or PETG: Great for a rigid, sturdy display piece with clean details and easy printing.
  • TPU: Excellent if you want to capture that flexible, "gummy" Exogini spirit and get an indestructible figure.

🛠️ Printing Tips

  • Filament/Resin: Resin was used for the restoration example (to get the detailed bronze finish), but TPU is excellent if you prefer a flexible figure.
  • Layer Height: 0.16mm (recommended for maximum detail resolution) or 0.20mm.
  • Supports: Tree supports are recommended, especially if you're aiming for a flawless finish on the complex volumes.
  • Patina/Finish: If you're printing in resin, consider a metallic spray finish to achieve the ancient bronze restoration effect.

🚀 The Nexogum Project

Nexogum is a personal tribute, a bridge between nostalgic 80s figure design, the power of AI, and the future of desktop 3D printing. If you love the idea and want to support me in creating more characters, please leave a like, a comment, and share your makes! Let's keep building this bio-mechanical army together. Enjoy the print!
