Perrin Rosemantle – Keeper of the Smallest Door
Beneath the oldest cathedral of Circlewood lies a door so small that most creatures pass it without ever knowing it is there.
Its keeper is a little mouse named Perrin Rosemantle.
Perrin wears a ceremonial cloak far grander than his tiny stature would suggest. Gothic windows are woven into its folds, and the leaves of the forest curl along its edges like living ornament. It was made for him by the cathedral itself on the day he promised to protect everything the larger guardians failed to notice.
Behind the Smallest Door are all the precious things lost within Circlewood: forgotten keys, unfinished letters, fallen buttons, childhood wishes, and crumbs carefully saved for difficult winters.
Whenever someone loses something that truly matters, Perrin feels a quiet tug beneath the clasp of his cloak. He leaves the hidden doorway, follows the faint trail of memory through the forest, and returns the missing treasure to the place where it will be found.
Although he is one of the smallest guardians in Circlewood, even Vesper Rosewatch bows his crowned head when Perrin enters the cathedral.
For wisdom is not measured by height, and no act of kindness is ever too small to become sacred.
