Sulfuric Acid molecular model (H2O4S, CAS 7664-93-9): a free, print-ready ball-and-stick model with the element symbol engraved on every atom, designed for chemistry lessons.
An acyclic molecule to start with: Sulfuric Acid joins 7 atoms through 6 bonds (4 single and 2 double), and students will not find a ring. Hand the model round and let students tally the engraved atoms: 2 H + 4 O + 1 S, 7 in total. Worth printing alongside it: Methanesulfonic Acid (CAS 75-75-2) and dimethyl sulfone (CAS 67-71-0), structurally the nearest in the collection. Team task: with the model in hand, each group marks the sulfonic acid group (-SO3H), then writes down what they found.
Printing: the STL is in angstrom units - scale it 10x in the slicer (1 angstrom = 10 mm). Use supports under the bonds; PLA works well.
