This 3D-printable model captures the T-47 airspeeder, more famously known as the snowspeeder. Originally designed by Incom Corporation as an industrial cargo handler, this wedge-shaped vehicle was modified by Rebel Alliance technicians into a formidable ground-attack fighter for the frozen battlefield of Hoth .

A Brief History:

• Industrial Origins: The T-47 was a low-altitude atmospheric vehicle designed for towing cargo modules. Its cockpit featured positions for a pilot and a rear-facing cargo manager, who controlled the magnetic harpoon and tow cable .
• Rebel Modifications: To survive Hoth's extreme cold, Rebel technicians added heaters near the drive units, de-icing nozzles, and insulated radiator fins . They also stripped Y-wing parts for armor plates and cockpit modules, mounted two AP/11 heavy laser cannons, and converted the cargo manager into a gunner .
• The Battle of Hoth: During the Battle of Hoth, snowspeeders were the Rebellion's only defense against the Empire's armored AT-AT walkers . When their blasters proved too weak, Rebel pilots used the harpoon and tow cable—originally meant for cargo—to trip up the walkers, immobilizing them .
