Description

The Forest Warden: Faun Druid | 60mm Fantasy Miniature

Character Lore

Deep within ancient forests, where sunlight struggles to pierce the dense canopy, dwells the Faun Druid. He is no warrior, and his magic is not one of fire, destruction, or bloodshed. He is the silent and inexorable warden of wild flora and fauna.

When raiders, armies, or disrespectful adventurers dare to trample his sacred domain, the Druid does not raise weapons. Instead, he evokes the silent but unstoppable wrath of nature: roots that writhe like serpents, shadows that whisper ancient secrets, and storms that shake the very bones. He never kills his foes; he simply shows them the true, untamed, and overwhelming power of the wild. Faced with forces that the mortal mind cannot comprehend or defeat, their only instinct is to flee, driven by the sheer panic of having dared to challenge Mother Nature.

Model Details

This miniature is designed to fit perfectly on a 60mm round base, making it ideal for tabletop wargames, TTRPG sessions (like D&D or Pathfinder), or as a stunning display piece and diorama centerpiece. The design captures the essence of an ancient being in perfect harmony with bark, moss, and natural elements.

Print Settings (Tested & Optimized)

The model has been optimized for FDM printing, perfectly balancing production time with excellent detail resolution.

Material: PLA (Recommended for rigidity and ease of post-processing)

Nozzle: 0.4mm

Layer Height: 0.16mm (Crucial for maintaining the definition of facial features, natural textures, and fine details)

Infill: 15% - 20% (Grid or Gyroid)

Supports: Yes (I highly recommend "Tree" supports to minimize marks on visible surfaces, especially under the horns and base elements).

Assembly & Finishing

To ensure the best possible result and reduce print failures, the model is split into 3 parts.

This design choice offers two huge advantages:

Zero failures on the face: By separating the head (and horns) from the body, you avoid difficult bridges and drastically reduce the need for supports touching the Faun's face.

Easier painting: Having the head separate from the torso allows you to comfortably handle the piece during preparation and painting, without the bulk of the body or base getting in the way.

Assembly & Post-Processing Tips:

Gluing: Use cyanoacrylate (CA glue / Super glue) to securely join the parts using the alignment pins provided in the model.

Gap Filling: Fill any visible micro-gaps or seams with a small amount of UV resin. It's easy to level and cures instantly under a UV lamp, drastically reducing waiting times compared to traditional putties.

Sanding: Proceed with fine sanding on the treated joints to achieve a perfectly smooth and uniform surface, eliminating any trace of assembly.

Priming: Apply the primer preferably with an airbrush. This guarantees a thin, even coat, preserving the finest details of the model (like bark textures, moss, and facial features) without filling them in, creating the perfect base for subsequent glazes and fine brushwork.
