Notice of Platform Change

Due to ongoing dissatisfaction with how MakerOnline is managed, I will no longer be updating or monitoring my designs on this platform. I’ve begun transferring my work to a new host.

You can find my latest designs and updates here:

Thank you for your support!

Working on a stand for my Kobra 3 Max. This is a work in progress as im still going thru the process of refining the design and adding features. Feel free to download and check it out or even print it out and test it with me.

Note: the slides from McMaster are not representative of the model and they need a hole drilled din them to work with this design.

You will also want to get some longer feeder tubes to run from the ACE unit to the printer, as soon as mine come in i will update this listing to let you know how long to cut them and where i got them from.

Updates:

2025/05/10

Drawers now have slightly thicker walls and an interference bump to keep them closed when the printer really gets whipping

Added to mid supports to help with some of the shaking at higher speeds

Updated drill templates for the top and bottom plates

Uploaded current assembly with changes

Big update for the frame:

It was terribly difficult for me to get my oversized hands in to tighten the screws to the top and bottom plates/boards, so most of the screws are now installed at a 20° angle. Unfortunately, this makes it hard to predrill the holes. To work around that, there are now alignment pins you can print and install between the plates and major uprights. You can then use self-tapping #10 screws (or similar) to secure everything.

I’ve also modified the mid supports to avoid interfering with the power plug on the back of the ACE unit. I didn’t realize it was an issue until I used the supplied power cord instead of the 90° angled plug I was using before.

Finally, I added another through-hole with a grommet to help route the ACE unit cord more cleanly.
