ZD Toys Yoda/Windu Lightsaber Proffie Conversion Kit

Everything you need to convert the ZhongDong Toys Yoda/Windu Lightsaber to ProffieBoard. It's a simple drop-in conversion, the original saber already has all the gubbins you need, including the battery, speaker, button, and RGB LED blade strip. The hilt is solvent-welded together, unfortunately, it takes some patience and effort to pry it apart - and you'll probably end up with some "weathering" along the way. I ended up using a craft knife and some acetone on the inside of the hilt along the seams.

Once you get it open though, it's a simple part swap - the old board with the proffieboard (and USB-C breakout board, which you can find on AliExpress or Amazon). I'd also recommend using a battery protection circuit, as there's plenty of space on the 3d printed chassis mount, but I've elected to just remove the battery when it's not in use. The wiring is pretty straightforward, and you can check out the official configurator that includes a wiring diagram if needed. The proffieboard is secured with a little bit of kapton tape wrapped around the board and mounting plate, which is enough to keep it secure in my testing.

Since the saber was glued together, and there are no screws to hold it back together at the bottom of the hilt when you're reassembling it, I've included a small ring that goes around the outside of the Yoda hilt that holds the two sides closed (I've found the Windu hilt holds itself together just fine with the battery cap). If the battery cap pommel is too loose or the battery wiggles around inside the hilt, I've also included a small insert that slides into the battery cap that extends it by about half a mil, enough to prevent either of those from happening in my testing.
