Zero Clearance insert for Lumberjack 12" sliding mitre saw.
I am unsure if it will fit their "Pro" 12" sliding mitre saw as I don't own that
I recommend PETG - I found PLA melted from the friction of making the first cut which caused PLA to stick to the teeth of the saw blade.
Print with 10 wall loops to give the edges a lot of strength.
Print with the top surface face down on the bed. and supports will only be required on the screw hole tabs
I've included a .3mf exported from Anycubic slicer with all settings
Fits using the screws that hold the existing extremely large clearance insert in place
You do NOT need to glue the two pieces together
Note that the slot modelled into this is NOT as wide as the kerf of the blade to ensure a true Zero clearance experience.
Instructions for best results and to get this the most zero clearance-y you possibly can:
- Remove the old throat plate (6 philips head screws, note the foot on the front will also come off when you do this, the front 2 screws are longer)
- Fit the new throat plate, the rear (closest to the back of the saw) part first, so the 45 degree joint of the front section holds the rear section down
- Ensure all screws are inserted
- Start your saw with it pulled to the front of the slide, perform a few MM deep relief cut front to back slowly
- Repeat step 4 a few MM at a time until you have done a cut the full length of the insert as deeply as you can go
