carbon filter add on for Ikea UPPATVIND

A mod for the cheap and cheerful Ikea Uppatvind Air purifier to add VOC filtering capabilities. The original Upptavind is an air filter with a dust and pollen filter perfect for a desk or to sit next to an office. This model extends the depth of the purifier adding space for carbon media. I also provide 2 meshed containers for the carbon media (put inside a mesh bag as well) with a lid. The mod barely adds 25 mm to the depth of the original and is barely noticeable. The original Upptavind compact and only $35 at Ikea and its dust filters are around $12. The carbon media is also reasonably affordable in bulk, making this a nice solution for small spaces.

If you would like to mount the UPPATVIND filter onto a STORA bed frame, you can use these custom brackets. There are versions for both the vanilla filter and the extended version for the carbon filter.

Depending on the size of your printer, you can print in different ways. The provided profile has plates for printers 250 and less.

For printers with a bed <250mm (such as the original Kobra and the A1 mini):

• 1 x full filter holder - 4 pieces -2
• 1 x full filter holder - 4 pieces -3

For printers with a bed of 250mm such as the Kobra 3:

• 2 x half-media filter-lid
• 1 x full filter holder - 2 pieces -1
• 1 x full filter holder - 2 pieces -2

For printers with a ~300mm bed (like the upcoming Kobra 3 Max):

• 2 x half-media-filter
• 2 x half-media filter-lid
• 1 x full filter holder - 2 pieces

If you import the original files, note to orient the pins facing up. The automatic orienting should give you the right option.
