Description

This is a precision-engineered 1U Rack-Mount Vented Blank Panel designed strictly to the EIA-310 standard. It is an ideal functional upgrade for any home server cabinet, network closet, or homelab setup, allowing for maximum heat dissipation while maintaining an ultra-clean, uniform, modern aesthetic.

The panel features a unique "50/50 balanced" dual-slot design. Each side utilizes 9 precision horizontal ventilation bars, where both the open-air slots and the solid metal bars are exactly identical in thickness (2.3 mm). This creates a visually striking, high-density symmetric grid. To ensure maximum structural integrity when 3D printed, a 1.0 mm solid reinforcement brace runs directly down the center, completely eliminating the sagging, bowing, or flexing common in long, thin plastic prints.

The mounting ears feature industry-standard 6mm x 9mm horizontal "pill" slots, offering generous side-to-side adjustment to compensate for minor rack alignment tolerances or variations in cage nut placement.

Recommended Print Settings

To achieve optimal rigidity and surface finish on your rack faceplate, the following slicer settings are recommended:

  • Material: PETG, or ABS/ASA (Recommended for environments exposed to sustained server exhaust heat). Tough PLA works perfectly fine for cool-running switches or low-heat environments.
  • Orientation: Print completely flat on the build plate.
  • Infill: 20% to 30% (Gyroid or Grid for internal strength).
  • Wall Loops / Perimeters: 4 walls. (Crucial: 4 walls ensure that the thin 1.0 mm vertical rib and the 2.3 mm horizontal bars are completely solid plastic, giving the panel maximum rigidity).
  • Top/Bottom Layers: 4 to 5 layers.
  • Supports: None required.

Blender Notes

  • The faceplate geometry center sits exactly at the World Origin (0,0,0).
  • The horizontal center-to-center distance between the left and right mounting slots is perfectly mapped to 465.1 mm.
  • Scene units are calibrated to a 1:1 Metric scale 1 Unit = 1mm.
  • Clean topology handled via non-overlapping Array geometry and finalized with Shade Auto Smooth and Weighted Normal modifiers for perfect shading.
