Calavera Style Skull

This is a sugar skull in the calavera-style sculptured in a bone colored filament, blending anatomical skull structure with the ornate decorative style of Día de los Muertos art. A cluster of detailed roses in full bloom, along with smaller rosebuds and leaves, forms a floral crown across the top of the cranium, with the largest blooms positioned above each temple. Below this, the forehead is covered in flowing, symmetrical baroque-style scrollwork radiating outward from a central line running down the middle of the skull, like a mirrored damask pattern.

The eye sockets and nasal cavity are left true to anatomical form with large, deep-set hollows and a heart-shaped nasal opening that create a striking contrast between the soft floral ornamentation above and the stark skeletal features. The cheekbones, jaw, and chin continue the decorative motif with smaller swirl and rosette patterns, while the mouth shows a full, neatly detailed set of clenched teeth.
