MODULAR CAR WASH ORGANIZER

I was searching for a car detailing organizer and only found canvas ones. I preferred a solid plastic one.that I could customize for my products and tools but could not find one. So I decided to design my own. The organizer is quite versatile and can also be used for boats, RV and many other things.

MODULAR CAR WASH SYSTEM

Central container

The organizer is based around a central container with a handle. The central container can be used to hold various items such as wax, polishing compound or applicators.

Clip on holders

You can clip various holders around the central container - I provided various options. There are two options - side clips on and front/rear clips on. The side clips can either be full or half lenght.

The clip-on holders have a bottom and a top section.

The side mounts can hold many items as seen in the photos including most products used for car wash and car detailing.

Top basket

There is a basket that mounts on the top of the central container. It is meant to be used for towels and other supplies. The upper basket also has holes to hang wet cloths from.

ASSEMBLY

Assembly is quite simple.

You only need two 3/4" no. 6 (4 mm x 20 mm) wood screws for the handle (see photos).

All other components are clipped on and 3d printed.

The handle is clipped on by pulling it up into the slots. You then screw in the screws to lock it into place.. .

3D PRINTING

FILAMENT AND PRINT TIME

The Car was organizer requires a printer with a print capabily of approximately 250x250x250 mm.

Excluding the handle, the central container is 9 inches (225 mm) long by 6 inches (150 mm) wide by 6 inches (150 mm). The side clip-on holders and the top basket add to this..

It requires About 1.1 kg of filament to print and takes about 1 day 10 hours to print.

PRINT SETTINGS

IMPORTANT I upload a print setting files for all my models. The print settings has the parts positioned for correct printing with support painted.

I strongly recommended you use my print setting file. If not, I will not be able to assist you if there is an issue when printing. From experience, many of the issues with printing my models are on account of users not using my print settings.

3D PRINT SETTINGS

I use the following settings and materials to print this model:

Infill % : 15% (no need for more)

Nozzle diameter: 0.4 mm

Layer height: 0.2 mm standard

Walls: The model is set for 2 walls. 

Material: PLA or PETG. PETG may be preferable since the organizer will be used outdoors and with water.

I enjoy creating 3d models that others can use and appreciate. It is a very fun pastime. I find it very rewarding to see my models downloaded and printed. I put lots of thought, time and effort to create each model print out multiple iterations to make sure it works just right.
