I made this magnetic printhead cover for the Anycubic Kobra S1 because the original setup started to become a bit of a pain over time.
The stock front cover is held in place by plastic clips. That is fine in the beginning, but if you remove it regularly for nozzle changes or general maintenance, those clips will eventually wear out or snap. That already happened to me twice, so I wanted a better and more practical solution.
This version is an updated variant of my magnetic printhead cover and adds a Pogo-Pin connection for the model cooling fan.
The general concept stays the same. The rear cover is still mounted with screws like the stock part, while the front cover is attached magnetically. That means you can remove and reinstall the front cover much more easily without constantly stressing the original clip system.
With the added Pogo-Pin connection, the model cooling fan can be connected without having to unplug its cable every time the front cover is removed. The other connections stay as they are on the original printer and still use the stock plugs.
It also improves access to the nozzle and, at least in my opinion, looks a lot better too. And yes, that was definitely part of the motivation.
Important note for users of the previous version
If you have already printed my original magnetic printhead cover, you do not need to print the complete set again.
The back cover is unchanged and can still be used.
For the Pogo-Pin version, you only need to print the updated parts that are required for the Pogo-Pin connection.
Compatibility
Only fits the Anycubic Kobra S1
This is an unofficial custom part and not an original Anycubic component.
The name Anycubic is used only to describe compatibility.
What is included
The setup consists of:
a front cover with Pogo-Pin connection
a back cover
two printed left and right mounting brackets
The original rear cover is removed and replaced by the printed one.
The front cover is then mounted magnetically.
If you already use the previous version of this mod, the back cover does not need to be printed again.
Required parts
You will need:
Pogo-Pins / spring-loaded contacts
some wire JST 1,25 & JST ZH1,5
soldering equipment
The magnets need to be glued in place.
Make sure to check polarity before gluing them in.
top section: round magnets
bottom section: rectangular magnets
The exact positions are shown in the images.
The Pogo-Pins need to be installed and soldered. They are used for the power connection of the model cooling fan.
Recommended material
I printed the parts in extrudr XPETG Matt Red.
I strongly recommend using PETG, ABS, or another heat-resistant material.
I would not recommend PLA, since it is more likely to soften or warp in the warmer area around the printhead.
Print settings
My print settings were:
0.4mm nozzle
2 walls
100% infill
0.08mm layer height
The model can also be printed at 0.20mm layer height.
I will include profiles for both options.
The parts should be printed in the same orientation as shown in the 3MF file.
Support and brim are already set up there.
Assembly
Assembly is pretty straightforward.
First, remove the original cover.
The front fan and the air duct from the original front cover need to be transferred to the new front cover.
For the Pogo-Pin version, the model cooling fan cable needs to be connected to the Pogo-Pins. This requires soldering. Please check the polarity and the contact position before powering the printer.
After that, remove the original rear cover by undoing the 4 screws.
Next, install the two printed brackets in their correct positions. Labeling them L and R is a good idea if you want to avoid unnecessary trial and error.
Then slide the new rear cover into place and fasten it with the original 4 screws.
Finally, attach the assembled front cover to the front.
With the Pogo-Pin connection installed, the model cooling fan connects automatically when the front cover is attached magnetically.
Fitment
The magnet pockets were designed with enough tolerance to make magnet installation easy and reliable.
Since this model was designed specifically for the Kobra S1, there should be no post-processing required as long as your printer is properly calibrated.
Why this mod?
Pretty simple:
better nozzle access, easier handling, no more relying on plastic clips that wear out or break over time, and now no need to unplug the model cooling fan cable every time the front cover is removed.
The stock setup works until it doesn’t. For me, this version is simply more practical for regular maintenance and day-to-day use.

This model is a 3D-printed mechanical holder/cover prepared for the installation of pogo pins. The pogo pins, wires, magnets, and any electrical components are not printed parts and are not included in the model files.
Installation of the pogo pins must be carried out carefully by the user. Please check polarity, contact position, and wiring before use. Incorrect installation may cause poor contact or electrical issues.
