Rain Barrel Downspout Filter Cover / Regentonnen-Siebabdeckung

Practical rain barrel filter cover / leaf guard for FDM 3D printing.

This model is designed as a replacement or upgrade cover for the inlet area of a rain barrel. It helps keep leaves, dirt and larger debris out of the barrel while still allowing rainwater to flow through the slotted filter surface.

Recommended material:

ASA is recommended for long-term outdoor use because it offers better UV and weather resistance than PLA or PETG. PETG can also be used for normal outdoor conditions, while PLA is mainly suitable for testing or indoor use.

Print recommendation:

- Printing method: FDM

- Nozzle: 0.4 mm

- Layer height: 0.20 mm

- Walls: 3

- Top layers: 5

- Bottom layers: 4

- Infill: 20–30 %

- Infill pattern: Gyroid or Grid

- Support: Not required

- Brim: Recommended

Bed adhesion:

For ASA, apply a thin and even layer of UHU Pritt Stick to the build plate before printing. This improves adhesion and helps prevent the outer flange from lifting during the print. A clean build plate, brim and stable print environment are recommended.

Printing notes:

Print the model flat on the build plate. Check the slicer preview carefully, especially the first layer, the slotted openings, the outer rim and the small grip tabs. Let the print cool down before removing it from the build plate.

Hinweis zur Betthaftung:

Bei diesem ASA-Druck reicht in der Praxis ein dünner, gleichmäßig aufgetragener Film UHU Pritt Stick auf der Druckplatte aus, um die Haftung deutlich zu verbessern und Warping am äußeren Rand zu vermeiden. Das Bett vorher reinigen, Klebestift dünn auftragen und mit Brim drucken. Nach dem Druck das Bauteil erst abkühlen lassen und dann lösen.
