Description

This is a foldable mini board and pieces compatible with the classic boardgame “Sorry”. It does require the deck of cards from an actual Sorry game to be playable. Magnets are used as a latch as well as to keep the tiny “men” in place. This print does require multiple color changes and a several finicky first layers, so it is not for the faint of heart. You will have to cut 3mm diameter ferrous metal rod to the lengths listed below, so that the magnets have something to grab on to.

Printing and Assembly

  • Either use included 3mf file or print the following:
  • 16 game pieces in 4 different colors
  • The right and left sides of the game board, using color swaps to get the colors right
  • two inserts
  • two hinge links
  • two cases
  • one card box
  • Source the following components
  • CA glue
  • 3mm metal rod in the following lengths for the game boards
  • 150mm x2
  • 70mm x4
  • 52mm x4
  • 10mm x16
  • 3mm metal rod in the following lengths for the piece compartments in the case inserts
  • 50mm x4
  • 10mm M3 cap head screw x4 to act as hinge pins
  • 6mm by 2mm round magnets (about 28 total)
  • Assembly
  • Slide the 50mm long rod into the holes in the case inserts. No rod should be sticking out.
  • Glue the other pieces of rod into the back side of the game board halves. Start with the longest pieces and work down to the shortest. It should be pretty obvious where they all go.
  • Screw the M3 screws through the case halves and hinge links to assemble the game.
  • Glue a stack of magnets into the two slots in each of the case halves. Make sure you get the polarity right so that they hold the case closed when it is shut.
  • Glue the board halves and case inserts into the cases.
  • Glue one magnet into the base of each game piece. I would recommend alternating polarity between pieces.
