Create a magical and joyful send-off for the happy couple with these customizable, 3D-printable wedding wands! A beautiful, mess-free alternative to throwing rice or confetti, these wands feature a textured handle, a long wand stick, and an adorable heart charm.
This project requires a mix of 3D printing and easy-to-find craft supplies, making it a perfect DIY project for weddings, parties, or celebrations.
The model includes:
The Stick: A long, sturdy hexagonal rod.
The Handle: A beautifully textured grip that the stick slides into.
The Heart Charm: A small, delicate keychain-style heart with a built-in loop for hanging.
Required Hardware (Not 3D Printed):
To complete the wedding wands as intended, you will need to pick up a few inexpensive items from your local craft or bead shop (or online). You will need:
Satin Ribbon: A spool of thin satin ribbon (typically 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch wide). White is classic, but you can match the wedding's color theme!
Mini Jingle Bells: Small metal craft bells (approx. 10mm to 15mm) to give the wand a beautiful, celebratory chime when waved.
Jump Rings (or Split Rings): Small metal jewelry rings (approx. 8mm to 10mm). You will use these to securely attach the 3D-printed heart charm and the jingle bells to the handle or the ribbon.
Assembly Instructions
Print the parts: Print the handle, stick, and heart charm. (We recommend PETG for the stick and Silk Gold PLA was used for the handle and heart charm). The stick may benefit from a higher infill or extra perimeters for rigidity).
Assemble the wand: Insert the stick into the designated hole in the top of the handle. Use a drop of superglue (CA glue) for a permanent, secure fit.
Attach the hardware: Using a pair of pliers, open a jump ring and thread it through the loop on the 3D-printed heart charm and one or two jingle bells. Attach this ring to the wand.
Tie the ribbon: Cut one or two strands of satin ribbon (about 1.5 to 2 feet long each) and tie them securely near the top of the handle.
Wave and celebrate!
