描述
These earrings wear the Armenian eternity symbol, the old sun cross known as Arevakhach, worked here as a small openwork pendant. Curved arms wheel around a solid centre and never quite close, so the eye keeps travelling in a circle, and the whole piece is cut through with openings that let the light pass and keep it light on the ear. In Armenian tradition this is the sign of eternity and everlasting life, the mark carved into khachkars and church walls for well over a thousand years, and a symbol of the sun and of life turning without end. Printed flat at about 24 by 27 mm and just 2 mm thick, it swings easily from a simple silver hook and works just as well as a small pendant on a chain. A quiet piece of heritage to wear every day.
