Beyond the Visor - Photo Frame 10x15 & 9x13

I designed this helmet to serve as a picture frame, combining the intricate shape of an astronaut's helmet with a personal keepsake.

The photo sits behind the face opening, making it the focal point of the model. Sculpted helmet elements, hoses, and technical details give the frame a striking 3D effect, making it a unique wall decoration for space enthusiasts, kids' rooms, hobby rooms, or as a creative photo gift.

The frame is designed for standard 10 × 15 cm and 9 × 13 cm photo formats, with corresponding recessed areas on the back. You insert the photo and the insert through the opening at the rear; placing a clear sheet (e.g., from sturdy product packaging) between them helps protect the image.

The model shown was printed in PETG using a 0.4 mm nozzle and a 0.2 mm layer height, with supports and "Adaptive Cubic" infill (15% is sufficient).

The contrast between the light-colored helmet and the dark background really highlights the contours and details. Of course, the helmet can also be painted in multiple colors or customized to match your room's décor. While multi-color printing is certainly possible, I don't recommend it due to the waste generated by purging. I used AI to "paint" a few variations in the photos so you can get a better idea of ​​the possibilities.

This model is intended as a decorative picture frame, not as a wearable helmet. My kids and I really like it.

Ich habe euch diesen Helm als Bilderrahmen erstellt, dieser verbindet die detailreiche Form eines Astronautenhelms mit einem persönlichen Erinnerungsstück. 

Das Foto befindet sich hinter der Gesichtsöffnung und wird dadurch zum Mittelpunkt des Modells. Die plastisch ausgearbeiteten Helmelemente, Schläuche und technischen Details verleihen dem Rahmen eine markante räumliche Wirkung und machen ihn zu einer besonderen Wanddekoration für Weltraumfans, Kinderzimmer, Hobbyräume oder kreative Fotogeschenke.

Der Bilderrahmen ist für die gängigen Fotoformate 10 × 15 cm und 9 × 13 cm vorgesehen, dafür ist in der Rückseite zwei passende Bereiche eingelassen. Foto und Einsatz werden über die rückseitige Öffnung eingesetzt, durch eine Folie die Ihr dazwischen legt (z. B. von einer stabilen Produktverpackung) könnt Ihr das Bild schützen.

Mein gezeigtes Modell wurde in PETG mit einer 0,4-mm-Düse gedruckt und einer Layerhöhe von 0,2mm mit Stützen und adaptiv Kubisch als Infill, 15% reichen.

Durch die Kombination aus hellem Helm und dunklem Hintergrund kommen die Konturen und Details besonders gut zur Geltung. Natürlich kann der Helm auch mehrfarbig bemalt oder individuell an die gewünschte Raumgestaltung angepasst werden. Ein Mehrfarbdruck ist sicherlich möglich, empfehle ich wegen des Spülabfalls aber nicht. Ich habe bei den Fotos einige mögliche Varianten mit KI "bemalt", dann hat man einen besseren Eindruck.

Das Modell ist als dekorativer Bilderrahmen gedacht und nicht als tragbarer Helm vorgesehen. Meinen Kiddies und mir gefällt es.
