Some chairs become empty because someone simply stood up.

This one became empty because someone never returned.

No one has sat here since. In their place, roses slowly began to grow across the seat, curling around the arms and climbing toward the open back. They do not hide the absence. They protect it.

The chair still remembers the weight of the person who once rested there. The warmth of their hands. The shape of their presence. Although time has turned its carved frame into something almost alive, it refuses to let the memory disappear.

It is no longer a chair waiting to be used.

It is a place kept for someone who is gone — yet somehow remains with us.

Because love does not always leave when a person does.

Sometimes, it takes root.

Why Print / Collect?

🌹 A memorial without a portrait — it can represent anyone we have loved and lost.

🪑 Absence made visible — the empty chair speaks through the person who is no longer sitting there.

🌿 Living remembrance — the roses and organic ornamentation symbolize memory continuing to grow.

🕯️ Quiet, universal storytelling — a deeply emotional display piece about grief, love and enduring presence.

🏛️ Distinctive artofshirley design — baroque structure, botanical detail and sacred-relic atmosphere united in a single sculptural installation.
