Articulating Phone Stand for Desk
This is a fully 3D printed articulating phone holder designed to sit cleanly on a desk while offering smooth, stable, and highly adjustable positioning. The entire assembly was designed and printed by me using PLA, and it’s been an incredibly fun and practical addition to my desk setup.
At the base, the holder sits on a snap-fit cross roller bearing that allows the stand to rotate a full 360°, making it easy to reposition your phone without lifting or dragging the stand. The bearing design keeps rotation smooth while maintaining excellent stability.
The articulating arm and phone cradle allow for easy angle adjustments, making it great for desk use, video calls, content viewing, or general hands-free phone access.
Magnet-Based Phone Mount
The phone holder attachment uses embedded magnets to securely hold your device in place.

The magnets provide a strong, satisfying snap while still allowing the phone to be removed easily when needed. Quantity 4 needed.
An optional attachment is included that can be printed if you’d like to convert this stand into a MagSafe wireless charging phone holder. This attachment is designed to house a MagSafe-style wireless charger while keeping the clean look and adjust-ability of the stand.

This makes the stand even more versatile for daily desk use.
For maximum strength and long-term durability, this design supports the use of shoulder bolts at the articulation points.

That said, all bolts and wing nuts can also be fully 3D printed and used to assemble the stand. The printed hardware works well and easily supports the weight required for the assembly.
Important notes when using printed hardware:
Break in the threads before assembling.
Do not over-torque the bolts — they’re plastic and don’t need excessive tightening.
The only issue I’ve personally encountered is with the wings on the wing nuts.
When tightening, it’s highly recommended to grab the base of the wing nut, not the wings themselves, to avoid stressing or breaking them.
This has been a really cool and fun addition to my desk, and I’ve genuinely loved using it so far. It’s smooth, sturdy, customizable, and a great example of what’s possible with thoughtful 3D-printed design.
Whether you’re using it as a standard magnetic phone holder or upgrading it to a MagSafe wireless charger setup, this stand is built to be practical, modular, and satisfying to use.
Testing & Print Profile
All parts in this design have been fully tested and confirmed to work as intended. Each component fits together properly, functions smoothly, and supports the loads required for normal desk use.
A ready-to-use print profile is included, so you can jump straight into printing without needing to tweak or guess settings. Just load the profile, print the parts, and assemble.
NOTE: All plates in this profile are not required for the assembly- If you want just the printed Phone holder configuration you will need to print (plate 2) (plate 3) you choose if you want the taller (plate 6) or the shorter (plate 4) then (plate 5) (plate 7) (plate 8) (plate 9)
For the Mag safe wireless charging configuration you will need (plate 2) (plate 3) you choose if you want the taller (plate 6) or the shorter (plate 4) then (plate 7) (plate 10).
