Kitty Toy Ball Set with Customizable Storage Base

Not unlike having kids, having pets often means having your home cluttered by toys lying around, well… everywhere! These cute and simple toy cat balls can be stored neatly in this customizable, paw print themed base when not being swatted and chased by our furry friends. Files have been provided for both the base with customizable name as well as without.
There are 5 different ball designs- including several hollow versions which can have treats added to entice engagement. My kitties prefer Temptations, but the holes in the hollow treat balls are different sizes to suit various types of small treats or kibble.
PLEASE NOTE: There are two versions of the hollow balls provided in the files- one set is simply split in half (to get best surface print quality) and will need to be glued together, and the other set is halved and designed with dovetail connectors so that glue is not needed.
STORAGE BASE CUSTOM NAME OPTION
To customize the base with your furry overlord's name:
- Open the file
- Click on Objects instead of Global next to Process
- Under Plate 1, right-click the “Right Click Here to Edit Text” under Cat Toy Ball Set Base.stl
- Select “Edit Text” and then click on the text on the model to make your changes.
Printing the Toy Balls
-30% infill or higher
-.2mm layer height or more - if you want them smoother, the smaller layer height is better but obviously increases print time. DO NOT use “Adaptive” or “Smoothing” layer function on the hollow balls or the supports inside will be extremely difficult to remove.
-Print flat (use auto-orient if needed) so that the widest part of the ball halves are on the build plate and the decorative stuff is on the top
-Use regular supports- DO NOT SELECT “remove small overhangs” the supports are necessary to help ensure quality of the orbs and the decorative details.
-Use 5mm outer and inner brims to add stability to the ball halves during printing, especially the hollow ones.
