Manic Manor – The House That Tricks You 👻

At first, Manic Manor seems almost normal.

Warm lights glow behind the windows. Rooms switch on and off. A light appears to move naturally from one part of the house to another.

But keep watching.

Was that light supposed to flicker?Did something just move through the rooms?

And why did the basement suddenly turn purple?

Manic Manor is a modular haunted house designed around exactly that idea: the haunting shouldn't start immediately. With the optional ESP32-controlled lighting, the house spends most of its time behaving like an ordinary occupied mansion. Then, at unpredictable intervals, strange events begin to occur.

Lights flicker, ghostly colors travel through the house, lightning jumps between rooms, the porch behaves strangely and the basement comes alive. Eventually, these individual disturbances can build into a complete Full Haunting sequence — before everything goes dark and the mansion slowly returns to normal.

The model can be built at several levels. Use the mansion on its own, add the modular scenery with fences, dead trees, rocks, graveyard, paths and pumpkins, or build the complete illuminated version.

For lighting you can use simple LED tealights or a small LED lamp, an S-shaped WS2812B strip with a USB controller, or the full ESP32-C3 version with 10 individually controlled lighting zones.

The ESP32 version also includes a Wi-Fi web interface for testing, demonstrating individual effects and manually controlling the lighting zones.

The model is designed to click together with minimal use of glue. A detailed Assembly & Lighting Guide and the complete ESP32 source code are included.
