Who says a 3D print can't have a story anyway?
Meet Marty! In his first episode of the series he is on a mission to set up his satellite on a new planet! As always with Marty... there tends to be a liiiittle bit of trouble. Just after landing he gets all setup with his trusty, but seen better days.., land crawler to take the satellite to its destination. When arriving to place the Satellite safe and sound in its stand he bumps into a rock which jars the Satellite loose from the crawler! Marty Reaches high in hopes to grab it but is too late.
Can you help Marty get his Satellite back and safely secured on the stand to finish his mission?
Hello! and thanks for checking out Marty on his first adventure. I was inspired to do this series because of my son. He has always had an infatuation with the stars since being a little baby. We would arrive at home late at night and he would point up at the stars and coo. Now, he is 7 and loves interacting with the 3D printing that I do here at the home office. I noticed how much imagination a 3D print can spark in a child. With his autism he has always struggled to express himself in a constructive way. He tends to open up when engaged in interactive play and coloring. I am going to involve him in what the next episodes will be so he can constructively think of a given scenario and apply his own imagination into the print. Then when each one is done he can share his creativity with you and your little ones to print at home. A short little story to play out with your favorite little people.
I'm aiming to keep the prints relatively easy to do with either minimal supports or none at all!
I am early into creating prints so I do utilize AI to help me get my initial basis of a piece and then redo it myself. The only AI left in this entire print is Marty himself. Soon enough I'll be making Marty on my own which hopefully will cut down on the remaining supports.
Included in the 3mf file are Filament processes for PLA Silk, PETG Translucent, and PLA Galaxy optimized for the AnyCubic Kobra X!
We also shared our Process Profiles and which plates we utilized them on so you can get straight to printing and enjoying a little interactive time with your child(ren).
