This cheeky little king cobra is designed to bring a bit of life to your 3D printer, acting as a spirited companion that wiggles and jiggles in time with every movement of the toolhead. Specifically sculpted to sit snugly around the PTFE tubes, it adds a touch of personality to your machine without interfering with its mechanical grace.
The model is optimised for PETG to ensure it can withstand the ambient heat and forces of the printing environment. Using slim auto tree supports, it remains a lightweight and efficient project that consumes only about 20g of filament and takes roughly two hours to complete. While the print is straightforward, a steady hand is required during the post-processing stage, as the delicate fangs and tongue need a gentle touch when removing the support structures.
Once the printing is finished, the real character comes through with a custom paint job. The hooded scales and fierce expression provide a fantastic canvas for acrylics, allowing you to match the serpent to your own workshop aesthetic.
Better yet, use your Kobra X to colour him saving you having to paint by hand like me!
Although tailored to fit the dimensions of a Kobra X (I hope! I cannot test since I do not own a Kobra X), the design offers a versatile way to customise your hardware and make the long hours of a complex print much more entertaining to watch.
Have Added a V2 version to fix a flaw someone highlighted to me!
